For students in Grades EC4-6

Plant a small window garden and watch it grow at school! Learn about composting and worms and the benefits to our soil.

Materials fee: $10

HIKING CLUB with Mrs. Clarkson & Mrs. Nusse

Tuesdays: April 6, 20, 27 until 5:00 p.m. (rain date May 4)

For students in Grades 2-6

Enjoy God’s creation and resurrection of nature as we hike through local parks and reservations. Sturdy, waterproof shoes and permission slip required for each hike.

Cost: $3 (As this club has an extended time, students who are not regularly in aftercare will be charged an additional $9 for this club.)

PONY CLUB with Mrs. Virzi and Miranda Jakubek

Mondays: April 19, 26; May 3

For students in Kg-Grade 1

Each class, learn all about ponies! Make crafts and even eat snacks that ponies enjoy! Each student will have their picture taken in riding attire (provided). The photo will be placed in a keepsake frame decorated by the student.

For students in Kg-Grade 6

Trace, cut, pin, and sew a frog (our theme this year) pillow. Beginners will be guided as they learn how a sewing machine operates.

Redeemer’s KIDS’ CLUBSare open to students and their families and friends in the community who are in EC4-Grade 6. Students may sign up for more than one club per week (but only one per day).

After school, children will meet in the lunchroom at 3:15 p.m. for a snack. Club sessions will begin at 3:30 p.m. Parents must come down to the lunchroom and sign out their child at 4:30 p.m., or children may stay in our extended care program up to 6:00 p.m. Clubs require a minimum and maximum number of students in order for them to run best. Registrations are recorded in the order received.

Does your child love science and experiments?

Join us for this fun, hands-on science class where your child will meet once a week with a certified teacher and learn about science through group and individual experimentation. Our goal is to open their eyes to science and hope that they learn to love it just as much as we do! It’s wonderful to see their eyes and mouths wide open with excitement when they see a funnel cloud form inside a bottle and dull old pennies shine!. Check out our April agenda and join us for 2 fun afternoons this spring as we explore the wonders of science. One-hour sessions will take place from 1:30-2:30 p.m. after morning classes and Lunch Bunch.

Snakes & Scales & Turtle Tales

This show brought BIG reptiles and herpetologist and founder, Bill Boesenberg, who enthralled and informed a big family night crowd on Friday, March 5.

We saw a nearly 100 lb America Alligator, “Blue,” sit in Bill’s lap like a puppy, and a 6 ft Water Monitor Lizard, “Elizardbeth,” sniffing the air with her foot-long tongue, while everyone laughed at the story of how she came to us. We also met “Hernia,” a 100 lb Burmese Python, and a giant snapping turtle.

School Spirit Day—wear Redeemer colors.

Family Night: Snakes & Scales & Turtle Tales reptile show begins at 7:00.

Parents will also be able to see our Annual Art Show and vote in the annual “Duck Stamp” contest.

Saturday, 3/6: Barnes & Noble Event

Redeemer students in Gr. 4-6 will sing, serve as a lector, and help usher during the 11 am service.

EC3s and 4s will have a special storytime and EC4s will serve snack to EC3s.

Tuesday, 3/9 Serving the Lord in Our Families, Jobs and Careers

8:50am:   Mrs. Nick will tell us how she serves the Lord in her home and in our school.

CAREER DAY:  Students dress or otherwise identify themselves in the job/career in which they hope to serve God and others.  Some ideas:  police officer, firefighter, military, mother, father, doctor, teacher, lawyer.  Give students time during class to relate how they could serve the Lord through their vocation.  (Any props, i.e: hats, gavels should be in backpacks until presentation.)

1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd graders will have placemats decorated and setup for buffet lunch to be served after the noontime worship on Wednesday.

Wednesday, 3/10 Serving in Our School

Kg- Gr. 6 will visit Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Fords for the morning, where there will be Chapel and a presentation by the Philadelphia Zoo.  Arrive at 8:30 am. Bus leaves @ 8:45. Bus leaves OR-F at 11:30 to return.

EC3s & 4s: 8:50am:  At opening, Mrs. Eichner will talk about how we can serve in our school.

9:15 am:   PUPPET SHOW Featuring the hard-to-get, fully -booked, never-before-seen-on- YouTube  Kathy Post and Michelle Cierpial during Chapel.  After the show, EC3’s will serve snack to the EC4s.

5^th & 6^th Grade girls:  will serve lunch to parishioners when they return from Fords.

Thursday, 3/11 Servants in Our Community

Wear Red, White, Blue

8:50a.m.  Mrs. C.  will talk about being a servant in her community.  Officer Mark Cierpial will lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  We will sing “God Bless America.”  We will honor a RLC church member with a “Servant of Christ” award.

“Read Across Redeemer” at 10am, Gr. 1will read to EC3s; Gr. 2 & 3 will read to EC4s at 10:30;

Gr. 4-6 will read to Kg. at 10am.

Friday, 3/12 Servants in our Church

9am    Chapel Opening.  Mrs. Hessemer will introduce members of the congregation invited to say a word about serving in our church.  We will honor them with ”Servants of Christ” awards.

Our snack will be donated by the Pretzel Factory.

2-6^th Grades:  Celebrate National “B“ Day.  “Pi” activities and donated pies.

This WOW show brings the biggest reptiles and herpetologist and founder, Bill Boesenberg.
