Our children succeed academically, with test scores, on average, above the national norms. The students are fully prepared to go on and become successful students in other private or public schools. The school boasts excellent diversity, welcoming those with different ethic, economic and racial backgrounds. All denominations and religions are also welcome at Redeemer School. Daily Bible study helps children stay connected to their faith, secure in God’s love and prepared for Christian citizenship.

All academic subjects are taught by New Jersey certified teachers. Our staff demonstrates academic and professional competence in teaching, with some holding advanced degrees and certificates in education. They are dedicated, creative, compassionate teachers with a personal interest in helping each child reach his or her fullest potential. Class size is limited to about eighteen providing an excellent student/teacher ratio and runs from 9:00 AM -3:15 PM.

Great effort is made to make learning lively and meaningful. Hands-on experiences through the use of field trips and special activities make learning relevant. For example, Grades 4, and 5 attend Camp Koinonia, N.Y. for a three-day environmental education course.

Each classroom is equipped with computers for students to utilize during class. Games and educational programs provide fun opportunities to gain ease and comfort with computers in a safe well-supervised environment

Physical education and recess provide daily exercise and fresh air for all students. In addition to our on-site playground, we have access to open grassy areas at Clark Park just two blocks away. Each spring, the elementary grades are given swimming instruction at the YMCA. In the late spring, our upper grade students, along with six other Lutheran Schools, participate in the Lutheran Olympics, a track and field day. The younger grades have their own track and field events at the nearby park.

For those students who are in need of extra academic attention, an extremely effective supplemental instructional program is available on a fee basis.

Sociological studies, comparing Lutheran School students with students in public education, have shown that students from Lutheran schools are much less prone to peer pressure; a significant factor in the early use of drugs, including alcohol and cigarettes.
